Well, it took me a lot of time (Two months, I think), but I’ve finally finished draft 3 of Book 2 of the Dark Elf War: Gunz. This was a big, meaty book with a lot of moving parts. I love how it turned out, but it sure took a lot of tinkering and fixing and rewriting. This is the problem with books that are written in the “epic” genre; they’re very hard to pull off and there’s a lot going on. I’m hesitant to use terms like “epic” as I think that’s a term more apt for the G.R.R. Martins and J.R.R. Tolkiens of the world, but what the heck, this book feels epic.
So, what now? I took this week off to work on book promotion and marketing issues that I’ve been putting off for a while. I’ve also contracted with the insanely talented Mirela Barbu Design for the cover, and I hope to shortly have something to show off. In the meantime, I’ve commissioned her to redo the original cover for Book 1 of the Dark Elf War: Starlight. I wanted something with more zest and more in line with book 2 and soon, book 3.
Here you go. I hope you like it.
